Why we built it
Every tasting app makes you pick a side: a rigid 1–5 scoring grid, or a freeform notes field with nothing structured to search. So your journal turns into either a spreadsheet you'll never read, or a pile of text you can't query.
Tipple gives you both. Every entry has structured sliders for nose, palate, and finish AND a notes field for the colour, the mouthfeel, the story. Then you can search across all of it — by ingredient, flavor tag, occasion, or any word you wrote down.
What's inside
- Structured tasting — 1–5 sliders for nose, palate, and finish on every entry. An overall score that ignores unrated dimensions.
- Freeform notes — write whatever you actually felt. Stays right alongside the sliders, never hidden.
- Pours — for cocktails, record each ingredient and quantity. Searchable later.
- Flavor tags — built-in starter set (smoky, citrus, herbal, oaky, floral, spicy, sweet, bitter, dry, fruity). Pro adds custom tags.
- Occasion + venue — home, bar, restaurant, event, travel. Tag the place so you can find it again later.
- Search — by ingredient, by flavor tag, by producer, by venue, by any word in your notes.
- Cellar inventory (Pro) — track the wines and spirits you actually own.
